The Importance of Absurdity

My new musical addiction (besides that one that everyone knows about)? Justin Rosolino. Oh man. That kid just blows me away. His new cd just came out in the past 2 months or so...5 years after his previous. And I can assure you, as soon as I get my next paycheck and fill up my gas tank, I'm ordering both Music and Wonderlust. Because, quite frankly, I love it when I can randomly sing a song in my head (one that I haven't heard in years, at that) that is of no relation to my life at the time and be completely overwhelmed. He's that good. And not many people are. And so, with that, I leave you this:

Legacy

And so it comes to this, my love, this honesty
and I’m lying dead here in your arms, but miles away
And I have given all that I am to earn my place
Even my secret stones, the ones that I had saved

You said you never asked to see this hollow shell that’s left of me,
but I leave to you my legacy

And so I fed your hungry soul with all my river’s flow
We were a sight to see, a wonder to behold
and I can see that fear in your movements, that I might fade away -
I wonder sometimes, does fear scream louder while I remain?

You said you never meant to be the keeper of what’s left of me,
but I leave to you my legacy

You said you never asked to see this hollow shell that’s left of me,
but I leave to you my legacy

You said you never meant to be the keeper of what’s left of me,
but I leave to you my legacy

All that I am, and all that I’ve known, and all I can give, and all I’ve shown,
and all my flesh, and all my bone, and everything...
