The Importance of Absurdity

The Pride and Prejudice fest is now over. The lady at the video store said I was ambitious; I happen to think of myself more as lazy. But whatever works. I actually really enjoyed it. Not that I thought I wouldn't like it. I just didn't know if I could handle all 5.5 hours of it. But I did. Actually, it was just as well that I didn't do anything else today. I can hardly extend my arms parallel to the rest of my body because of diving yesterday. I wasn't expecting this much pain 'til the middle of next week, after day 3. That's when it's usually the worst. But oh well.

Diving might actually turn out to be much better than I expected. My head coach, Becky, is a piece of work, but then again, it takes one to know one. I already know my other coach, Laura. We dove together 2 years ago. Started the same day. She's now diving at Carolina (redshirting this year though). It is a little wierd that I'm 2 weeks older than her, but it's all good. Plus, she knows my strengths and weaknesses better than Becky ever will. I convinced Lee, my old diving friend to come yesterday just to try it out and it looks like she's gonna stick with it. That makes me happy. It also makes me happy that Lee and I (and some other girls) got to do lineups and tuck dives from 3m. In fact, I'm feeling very very good about the season now. Amena for that!
