The Importance of Absurdity

Heya kids! So yes, I am here at GSW, enjoying the beauty of the library. Or something. Actually, I'm really just enjoying the beauty of not having a class right now when most of the rest of the campus does. Haha, sucks for them, eh? I'm having a ton of fun. And playing a lot of pool. Lol, I've been hanging out a lot in the student lounge. Student lounge=pool table+Comedy Central on the big screen+fun people. But of course, I've also been going to classes and such. Which is fun stuff. The first couple days of orchestra were kinda blehhh, but I'm beginning to like it now. And I love my area 2 and 3 classes. Especially area 3. My teacher is outstanding and the guys in that class are hilarious. I generally just don't stop laughing. Same with area 2, but only because my teacher is the most hyper kid ever. I swear. He's in his 30's and he walked in (first day of class) the other day wearing a Beastie Boys shirt. But he's real cool.

So anyway, I have an assignment for my area 3 class. Next Wednesday (it's a MWF class) we have to "bring" in something that we think is beautiful. I've been thinking about what to do. There's not really anything physical that I could bring. I thought about playing a song on the guitar, maybe Springtime Indiana, but it kinda loses the effect when I sing it. And then I thought about bringing my IGrace cd and playing Dear Refuge of my Weary Soul for them. But I think that'll go over everyone's head. So now I'm thinking about reading a poem or something. Wouldn't you know it, at the last minute, I decided not to bring my Edgar Allan Poe book of poems with me, so my only Poe choice is Serenade (which I posted here not too long ago). Which is definitely an option. But I want imput from y'all! Any poems or passages that you think are beautiful? Or suggestions of songs I could play on guitar? Or really just anything?
