The Importance of Absurdity

I'd just like to say that the end of school is a wonderful thing. I know I'm not done yet. I know I still have an AP test on Friday. I know I still have 2 EOC's to take. But I might as well be done. School is of no worth to me anymore. Honestly, the only thing I care about anymore is my friends. Surprise? No. Pretty normal I guess. And maybe it's just me, but I make more friends during the last month or 2 of school than I do at any other point during the year. And I like that. New friends are great. So are new groups of friends. Too bad I won't be here over the summer to thoroughly enjoy them.

As if I didn't have enough else going on this week and last week, I've got a cold. It's more than a cold though. I should honestly be staying home from school and rehersals. Especially rehersals. I know I didn't get Anna sick, but if I were to get anyone else sick, Mrs. Long would snap my neck. I kid you not. But yeah, it's pretty bad. Especially for me. I don't get sick. But I was so dead today that I slept through all of 6th period. With my teacher's permission of course. He took one look at me and agreed to let me. It's one thing to go on being sick. It's another to be sick during the biggest test of your life (thus far), my APUSH test, which I take Friday. I just know that I'm not gonna be better by then. I haven't taken any medicine yet. I don't really do the medicine/doctor thing. I mean, as long as it doesn't kill me, I have a strong enough immune system to fight just about anything off. So I just let things run their course. But I think I'm gonna have to take something, if for no other reason than to keep my lungs in my chest and to get an appetite back. It's a sad day when I take medicine. But it shouldn't be. For some reason, through out the years, I've decided that I'm invincible. That no illness will do me any harm. The last and only time I went to the doctor for something besides a required physical? This fall, for my knee. Did it do any good? Nope. They didn't and still don't have any idea what's wrong with it. Did I go when I broke my nose? Nope. When I broke my toe? Not so much. When I was incredibly ill in 7th grade? Negative. I mean, yeah, it might be kinda cool and all to never go to the doctor, but I just have this distinct feeling that it's gonna catch up with me one day.
